Question

JPM Serial numbers

Hi,

Does anyone know if there's any definitive way of finding out which JPM's came with certificates? Is there a list anywhere? I've been told that if you got one with the crazy coloured pickups like JP's personal model, then that's it, but i'm not sure if i've ever seen one, and i've seen a whole STACK of jpm's in my life. I bought one from new VERY early on from when it came out, and i'm pretty sure it ain't one of the first 100, but I haven't got a clue as to what the score is.

Also, I heard rumour that only the japs got the special 100, anyone know?

Matt

Re: JPM Serial numbers

Hey Matt, I've been working on getting the facts for this. The first 100 did come with a certificate, and no they did not all have colored pickups. A lot of the certs seem to have dissapeared, but I can verify some with the serial numbers. Check out my site http://www.jpmregister.com to get an idea. Register your guitar and I can let you know if it should have come with a Certificate by the SN.

Thanks,
Brian

Re: JPM Serial numbers

Correction.

The guitars imported by Hoshino USA received a certificate. It has always been rumored/reported there were 100 total with certs.

The colored pickup P1's were the first issue home market [Japan] models but so many people liked them quite a few have had colored pickups put in over the years.

Re: JPM Serial numbers

It's fair enough advertising your own JPM website, but it'd be nice if you actually bothered to reply to people when they go to it, register and then send you an e-mail to which they hear.....................nothing!!
