Love the guitar - hate the neck!

This may sound warped (pardon the pun), but the one thing I'd change about my RG is the neck - I don't have an easy time with the flat, wide Wizard fretboards.

Long story: last year I tried out an RG570 for the first time and loved it so much that I bought it right away. The sound, the shred, the trem, all awesome. However, after about two days of playing, I got severe pain in my wrist from playing w/ thumb behind neck. I was heartbroken! I could pick up my strat, and the pain would go away immediately. I reluctantly traded the guitar for an RG470 to get the slightly thicker neck w/ rounder fretboard. Wrist pain is mostly gone, but I'm still not crazy about the neck, as it's width (or flatness?) prevents me from grabbing the strings by their balls.

Short story: Since RG570's are $360, I'd like to get one, and perhaps replace it's neck. Is there a smaller-radius and less wide neck that I can replace the Wizard with, or is there another guitar that you'd recommend?

Thx.
Kai.

EDIT: had I scrolled down, I would have seen this... reading right now...

Have you tried an RG-7 yet? I had the same problem with the original Wizard neck... i've changed my hand placement enough now that maybe it'd no longer be an issue, but i was having serious wrist problems at the time... But when i sold my 520 to buy a 7620, suddenly everything was fine again.

Worth a try.

sounds like you might be happy with an Ultra neck, or a JS neck.
give the S2020x a try, or a RGT, or a JS.
they have rounder, more "traditional" neck profiles

Drew, is that neck any thicker than a standard Wizard? I found that the difference between the Wizard I and II was enough to prevent the wrist pain.

In any case, I'm thinking long and hard these days about a JS1000. Other than the JS1000, is there any Ibanez guitar that has the Edge trem *and* a non-Wizard neck? I checked the catalog, but no dice...
