Luthier for Refret?

I have a ~1991 RG550 that needs a refret. I would like to go with stainless frets. I have sent out several emails to repair shops I've googled, but the only ones to reply have declined to take the job. I know several people here have had a refret done with stainless frets, can anybody give me any leads?

If he can't do it, I just had my Jem777DY done by Michael Tuttle. Here's his site.

Re: Luthier for Refret?

Is it out of the question to do this yourself like with regular frets?

Re: Luthier for Refret?

I charge twice as much for a refret with stainless, as I basically have to get new tools after the job because of the hardness of the material...it ruins my files and end nippers. Stainless frets last a hell of a lot longer than nickel frets, but they also wear out you strings faster, so the savings you get from fewer refrets is negligable when compared to the the cost of replacing your strings twice as often.
