maple fingerboards

In looking at the pics from this year's NAMM show, i noticed that there were hardly any models with maple fingerboards. (the PGM is the only one i can think of ) So i was wondering if Ibanez doesn't offer maple for a particular reason, and for how long it has been this way.
I'm really into the maple boards right now, and although i'd love a PMC or LNG, there aren't exactly an abundance of them for sale, so i was thinking of getting a new RG. Seeing the pics from NAMM though, it doesn't look too promising.

I've raised this point myself. There are some '04 j-customs (RG8570M-mmmmmmm) and a couple of prestiges that have maple boards. You can order from Ishbashi if you have the money, time & patience.

Yeah, its a bit dissapointing really. I am a lover of maple boards, and I do prefer it to rosewood most of the time I must say. I prefer ebony over both of them however. To me, maple does look better as well on most axes - but Im sure Ibanez will return with more maple-boarded axes in future!
