That RG7EX is nice.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
Surely by now everyone has heard about these models. Apparently the Guitar Center around here has a limited run of
Ibanez guitars
with EMGs that they are selling for an insanely low price. The feedback about these guitars is that they are a super deal and that they will fly out of Guitar Center. I'm pretty sure they are related to those japanese models.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
I have seen them a few times now, and they certainly look very very nice! I would like one of each. But I doubt we will get them here in the UK anytime soon. But ordering one from the US or JAP.

mick does use customised 24 fret ibanez s guitars, i have high quality pics i can show you.
i think its a black pearl finish, and has the usual edge fx with emg 81/60.
it has the same seven inlay aswell, aparantly its tuned to drop a to play some of the songs from iowa
here are some pics of his other rg

He has his own Custom body S series! Because the 24 frets!! U can see the cut away its different than the normal S forms!!!
An one question!! why does he dont use for the 6th and 5th this locking system stuff!! See both guitars! he doesnt use them??? why???

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
its because he is REALLY anal about his tuning, he makes sure his guitar is properly in tune between each song. and with his
heavy gauge strings
, low tunnings and heavy guitar abuse, they tend to go outta tune worse than normal.
he keeps the 6/5 nut off because those are the strings which go outta tune the most (even tho it may go outta tune a lil bit), so naturally he would keep the 6/5 nut off to keep retunings quick and efficient. i think he would do the other strings (4-1) with the fine tuners on the bridge.

Probably so that he can drop and raise the low E to whatever dropped or standard tuning he wants?

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
Those are the best pictures I have seen of his Ibanez axes so far. Nice find. They look even nicer close-up, I am literally dribbling all over the place, lol! As I have stated on this thread before, his signature axe would be ideal for me. Especially as I am a fan of Slipknot too.
But my god......that S series is damn tasty. I would take one of those without even batting an eyelid.
Ibanez, take note, release it - or at least something slightly similar.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
lol, since you like the pics, heres the last high quality one i have of the rg-red, nothing new, just a different angle i guess
sidemarkers:
black rg:
thumbs up!:
i wanna get a better look at his black rg, that one owns! but he seems to prefer the red one over it, so there arent many pics of it
i would definately get his sig (if it came out), even if it was well over £1K
but peeps, i have to tell ya, it doesnt seem likely that a
signature guitar
will come out. i remember reading somewhere, that someone had asked mick if there would be an ibanez signature series and he replied that there were no plans at the moment but he would be releasing a signature amp soon (by rivera, heavily based on the knucklehead)
if it doesnt come out, i will just get a
custom guitar
company (like RAN) to make me one based on the looks and specs...but at the moment im a poor college student, so i think i will be doing in a few years
as you can tell im a diehard slipknot fan...not one of those immature 13 year old poser fans, but a mature level headed fan

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
ok guys....look at the pic of the grey one again. it looks like and rga with the sfx bridge. as for the red and other ones...they look like a RG series with the same bridge. hell the red one looks like a pgm with micks' own preferances', like no middle pu, EMG pu's and the sfx bridge. Personally the ibanez custom guys have taken the words custom guitar to the next level as we sit here salavating over these guitars!!

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
dude, that is definately an S series...because:
1. the ibanez website says he uses s series guitars
2. the body is a lot more curvy than the rga
3. the horns are a lot more curvy than the rga
4. the input jack is an s series "on top" style
5. the p'up selector is s series style
6. it looks like a s series!

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez
on second examination of the pics User01....it looks more like a hybrid, look at the body thickness. s series and rg series...best of both worlds
