Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

I got a closer look at the pic posted by user01...and despite the price tag...I'm gonna order one!!!

it was about 200 bones msrp more than I thought it would be, but since they used real EMG's and not the the HZ series I'm gonna do it!

Sweet. Report back to us what you think of it!

Are you gonna keep it in the drop-B tuning?

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

since I live in Canada it may take an extra week or two to get one....but I'm gonna see how this monster will respond to my playing far as the dropped tuning goes I use a higher tuning but I'm always looking to try something different so we'll see.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

I will still be getting one also. But the price hit me a bit harder than expected. I will be ordering mine from the USA though, and getting it shipped over. Just to make sure I save that extra couple of coins/notes.

There is that too,
But hey, the fuss about MIK axes isnt what it used to be. I am prepared to take the plunge and find out how good this axe really is. It is the perfect guitar for me, in terms of useage and features - so I would be a fool not to try one!

Touche...i hope it rocks man, i really do (so it doesn't feel like 1200 bucks or so is bad). EMG's, mahogany body and set neck (and blocked trem)...that thing should be a monster.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

the guitar has rosewood instead of ebony which makes the inlay look crap

it does not have the black binding

the pick ups are only emg standard pick ups and the price is a bit hefty for that

i thinks anyway

EMG standard pickups? What kind of EMG pickups were you expecting? That's what the man uses so that's what they put in the guitar. I do agree that the piece of rosewood that they used at least on THAT guitar in the picture isn't very attractive. I have a beautiful piece of dark rosewood on one of my RGs that really sets the inlays off. As for the binding, if you look at the larger picture on the Ibanez website you can see that there is some black something or other around the body of the guitar (whether it is binding or just black paint, we dont know yet). Either way, the guitar still ended up better than I thought it would.
