Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

Fan of Mick, fan of Slipknot... I'd buy one of his guitars if it were to be released as a signature, just never heard there was gonna be one.. only from this post. But hey, its all good, that would be awesome to see a sig. from Mick.

I think that is the all black one. I'm sure some of you are drooling to think of an RG coming stock with EMGs

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

It hasnt been said 100% that a signature model from Ibanez is going to be released, far from it. I would just like to hazard a guess that one will be released. I think it would only benefit them. I think there is a market for them, and it would possibly fill that little "void" that some players need. For some players its different, but for me that guitar would be the perfect axe. Its got everything that I need in a guitar. I think that both Mick and Slipknot as a whole are big enough to warrant a sig model. I just hope Ibanez see this, and release a model. It sure would be cool, and as I said, I would get one in both black and red if they were to be released!

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

Looking at it strictly from a financial point of view, how many of the signature models did BC Rich sell? That factor alone will be looked at as far as terms of Mick's guitar marketability. The BC Rich guitars were released as a budget point strictly for the beginner-intermediate market.

Taking this into a consideration, if a new signature model were to be released:
-Korean made
-Basswood RG body, black w/painted binding
-Edge pro 2 or 3
-EMG HZ pickups
-Bolt on maple/rosewood neck w/inlay

Ibanez learned alot with the K7 and price point/marketability. Admittedly, the price point is higher than the market would accept (although a great guitar). If a Thompson sig model were to be released, I don't think that mistake would be repeated.

Cheers,
Butch

it still amazes me that ibanez missed the K7 target so badly... and that they didn't quickly release a scaled down cheaper one to correct this problem... glen

Yeah slipknot was on the late late show w/conan last night. His Ibanez is Blood red w/ EMG's and a reversed headstock. It looks sweet if they make a sig model that would be cool.

Might be cool if they leave off the moronic inlay.
