Now of course, I think if they do jump into an exact match of his thing, they'll find a way to put EMGs in it, but if it's just an RG similar, fat chance it'll happen...
The ergodyne series has (or had) emg derivative pickups in it.

Mick had a neck thru RG in red (or 2 can't remember) with EMGs (neck and bridge) what looked like an Ebony fretboard, floyd rose, one volume, 3 way?, reverse headstock and the "SEVEN" inlay. He also came out later with a silver S series with the same spec as above but also with white binding.

Jim had a multitude of Charvels, 2 of which looked like strats (same bridge and everything) with maple fretboards, EMGs, smaller strat headstocks. He also had a few with pointy charvel hadstocks.

Just thought you guys would like to know.

Joe
This one

it has a fixed Edge.

I am seeing both Slipknot and Shadows Fall at Download Festival this Sunday. As well Killswitch Engage, Slayer, Nightwish, System of a Down, Mudvayne, Motorhead, Mastodon, Lacuna Coil.....cant wait!

I am pretty damn sure Mick and Jim will be using the same guitars as when you saw them then. I will keep a lookout though and see.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

It's plain to see it's a Gotoh made FX EDGE bridge - looks like a floyd but it's a fixed bridge.
The JS2000 had one.

You know that guitar is pretty sweet minus the "seven" inlay.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

Basically so you can hammer the sh*t out of it and then just tweak it back into tune with the fine-tuners.
Also you can do huge string-bends without your strings sticking in the nut and your guitar going way out of tune.

It's basically for TUNING STABILITY (i should have just said that first)

he was never using a fender telecaster, acording to him in guitar world 2 months ago, the only really difference between the fender tele w/ hum. and his, is that his has a charvel made neck

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

Er.... then why doesn't mick just use an orthodox strat style fixed bridge or tune o matic to achieve tuning stability?

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

Why not the FX Edge? It probably suited him more.
