Probably because the FX Edge stays in tune better than any other fixed bridge out there, save maybe the Tone Pros stuff (which I have no experience with). I've owned TOM style, and still have an RG421 (strat style) and SC420 (wrap around all in one) and neither stay in tune as well as the JS2000 w/ FX Edge.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

Me for defenite.
I would actually buy 2 if they did one in black and one in red.
Trust me, if Ibanez release it, it will sell alot! Obviously not to everybody. But it will do a hell of alot better than some of the other Ibanez Signatures, e.g. Daron Malakian model, Mike Mushok model, Noodles model.
The Mick Thompson sig would outsell all of them. Just because of the fact that they are a much more commercial band.

Not to mention the fact that it would possibly have active electronics. When it comes to metal, it's hard to beat EMGs.

Re: Mick from Slipknot + new Ibanez

His guitar is pretty close to ideal for me as far as 6 strings go, but if they put "SEVEN" across the fretboard, there's no way in hell I'd buy it.

yup. he used to. i've seen slipknot's new video, cant remember the title, (but they all have their masks OFF, still not showing their faces at the same time, pretty neat) ..and they had this close-up on jim's guitar headstock. clearly says Charvel (the old-charvel style decal, not the Jackson-type charvel logo)...but the body looks pretty similar to a Tele...

I think If Ibanez offered: Reverse head-stocks, Neck and body binding and a choice of Pickups as Options on a number of models EveryOne would be happy!!!

Couldnt have said it better myself.
Although I suppose the way Ibanez see it is, if anyone wants that done, they can go and pay extra to have some of that done elsewhere. Like new pickups, and binding etc.

For a large-scale manufacturer like Ibanez doing this would be totally impractical, technically + financialy.

I agree that it would be great but as far as Ibanez are concerned that's what places like EKG and LGM are for.

If he'd release a signature, I'd take it if it were not for the "SEVEN" inlays

Even that doesnt bother me at all.
I would take one in a second. I would put money on Ibanez releasing it, but "when" they release it is another question. I wouldnt be suprised if it is this winter, or next summer. And they would probably release the black w/white binding model......and the red w/black binding model. I would buy both. They just suit my needs and type of music perfectly.

I just hope its an expensive higher-end model. Not a cheapo cast-off like his BC Rich model was. Hopefully they will release a more expensive model that has the top quality parts, hardware and pickups. I think that a price in the £600 - £800 region would be acceptable. Not RRP obviously, but in-shop price.

I am just counting my days for it. "SEVEN" inlays or otherwise.

Large Car manufacturers offer many options on even their "budget" models why can't a large scale Guitar Manufacturer like Ibanez do the same. You can have the Basic model RG**** at this Price and for Extra you can add Body binding/neck binding/reverse head-stock/Pickups of your choice.
It would be like the Old USA Custom Line except on a much simpler scale.
It would just be a matter of Having Bound Necks, Bound Bodies and Reverse Head-stock necks ready at the end line in the Factory.
It Can't be that uneconomical, I'm sure that they would be innnundated with orders for these extras!!!
