Might be able to pick up a Red Ibanez blazer 1982 I have some questions !!

Hi all.

I have an opportunity to buy an Ibanez Blazer in red from 1982, in immaculate condition in its original case.

I have yet to view the guitar, and am waiting for a response from the seller, as to how much they want for it.

Is it a quality guitar ? I wouldn't mind owning an older Ibanez especially in good nick.

Any thoughts would be appreciated on price and whether its a nice guitar to play..

I'd guess any guitar that's 25 years old might have some issues so you really should try before you buy if it's a player rather than a collector (and at that price I'd suggest it is a player)

Ultimately only you can decide if it's worth it, but a quick search of the usual online second hand market places should tell you if the price sits in line with the norm.

Good luck

i worked on a couple early '80s Blazers, and i can tell you they're nothing less than great Fenders. you would probably not like the pickups, but at that price that's not an issue (they sound good, though). great construction, great detail, great feel and very sturdy instrument. they also have a very resonating and massive brass bridge. they aren't as fancy and boutique as the '90s version, they're just about the best Stratesque guitars for the price. don't let it go!
