Re: MTM2

I think the person you should be listening to is yourself, not all of us. If YOU found it quite comfortable and nice sounding, and you've got the money to buy one then go get one!

But since you've asked, I've played a couple in the stores and it seemed like a nice instrument, although the first one I played had shocking fretwork. If you find one with good fretwork then go for it.

Re: MTM2

I think the MTM2 is the lower price version and doesn't have the Blackouts or the exact same bridge.

I've been really interested in trying it until I saw it had a painted neck even though it's a bolt on !!!

The painted neck is a major reason why I haven't bought an MTM1

Re: MTM2

At least with the MTM2 you can take the neck off and sand it easily.

Unfortunately there isn't an RG with an Edge FX and a reversed headstock Besides, I've got a lot of respect for Mick and wouldn't mind lining his pockets in return for his signature model.

I THINK THE MAIN DIFFERENCE IS THE NECK THRU AND BLACKOUTS... BUT I DONT KNOW IF THE EDGE FX THATS BRINGS THE MTM1 IS THE SAME ONE AS THE JS2000 BROUGHT...

ME TOO MAN, BUT THIS GUITAR FEELS LIKE A RARE RG... THE REVERSE HEADSTOCK AND OVERALL TONE SOUNDS EVEN MORE METALISH COMPARED IT WITH AN RG

THE RG'S THAT HAVE FIX BRIDGE ARE SIMPLE AND DONT SOUND THAT GOOD... SURE IS SIMPLE TO UPGRADE THEM BUT THAT IS NOT A MUST WHEN THE TONE OF THE GUITAR RIGHT OF THE SHELF IS MORE THAN GOOD...

Re: MTM2

We have one hanging in the shop I work at. I personally think it looks better than the MTM1. I hate that stupid SEVEN inlay. Other than that the differences I'm aware of are:

Blot on vs. Neckthru
Ibanez pups vs. Duncans (Duncans aren't a selling point for me anyways).
Fixed Edge 3 vs. Fixed Low Pro.

And the cheapest trem is a fine bridge when fixed so I don't think the difference there is anything to write home about.

It's a fine guitar that I would personally never play. The 1st post was right. If you like it buy it. Every guitar is a little differen and ever player needs a different guitar. Every other MTM2 might be a terrible guitar and maybe you got the one that was great(They aren't terrible guitars though). Stuff like that happens.

i also think that it looks even better than the MTM1... but the neck thru is an ultimate pro... but the bolt on is no con either...
i dont know what is better the edge 3 fixed or the FX bridge... it doesnt even move for god sake...
