my "540"

I dont know if this is the best place to post this maybe i should have posted this on the none ibanez guitar section. If i am wrong i appologize.

So i love the S. I have played a few 540s and I love them. I decided i want one and have been searching for around a year (shortly after buying my 2170se). I found one in a local pawn shop for 50 USD. It was black, thin, and neckless. Yes it was just a body, it also was missing a tremolo.

I got fed up and gave up. A local guitar builder has offered to make an S for me. He says he can get the body to be almost identical to a 540. Since it is being built from the ground up i can pick every piece of it will be to my specs.

The body will be a mahogany 540 like body with a green flame maple top. The tremolo will be an origional floyd rose (due to the cost of purchasing an Ibanez trem). The neck will be maple with a birds eye maple fret board. The headstock will be a reversed PRS headstock that is paint matched with the body. I think I will put an air norton, d-sonic, and a super distortion stacked coil in it. Any other ideas before he begans construction?

Odd, I see 540's all the time. Sure you had your eyes open?

Ya, all there seems to be here is strats, teles, and les pauls. I like this idea better now though. I really didnt think anyone around here would build me an electric that i would like more than a origonal 540.


This is the last guitar he built. Of coarse in true East Tennessee fasion its a strat just like every other guitar down here.

I really hope that works. Ill buy one. Until then ill have my custom made "540".
