its an RG570 body mate with the single pup filled in, it was painted when I bought it so..... no monkey grip..

sorted the problem of the jack socket, lathed (turned) a piece of ally for an interference fit and put some grooves in it to accept the glue... then inserted the barrel jack into the 12mm hole through the centre and loctite the jack nut to the body like this:



then I glued it in place in the guitar body using araldite, I think it looks a lot better than a plate screwed to the body....

next I have to tackle the 5 way switch problem

SweeeeeeeeT.... my pups arrived today and im doing all the usual measurements in order to hard mount them....



I have a Lo-Pro Edge trem arriving this week (hopefully) so its feasable that ill have sound coming out of it by the week end...
although I doubt it cos im fitting a kitchen at the moment - every evening

Id have gone a lil crazier on pup colors, or at least green/black, but its looking awesome!!

Yeah, the all green pickups drown out the swirl a bit, or atleast distract from it. There a very bright green and your eyes go right to them rather than the swirl. green on the out, black on the inside would have looked better.

and do I see an outline where the middle pickup was? Yikes.

Not pickin' on ya or anything, i'm just very detailed and picky when it comes to stuff like that.

It still looks mad cool though..

yea, unfortunately in certain lights at the right angle the middle pickup can still be clearly seen.... not a lot can be done though aside from routing it back out !!
TBH I wasnt expecting the pups to be as vibrant a green as they are BUT !!! youve heard it all before, the real colour of a swirl just cant be captured in a digi picture. when Im looking at it hanging on my wall the pups suit it very well.. !

BTW - any suggestions on control knobs would be welcome !
