Well worth it
At the music shop they had another hardtail, an Ibanez RG321MH for $590, but i decided to go with the 421, it looked alot nicer than the 321.
Actually just a side note if anyone is interested in the pick-ups. They are the Ibanez Designed by EMG set, yet they are actually passive and not active like you might assume. Which is a bit wierd since they look like actives an were designed by EMG.
As for the sound They sound like
PAF Pros
with some differences, they have more output and the bridge has a slightly fatter tone, as for the
neck pickup
not so fat as a PAF Pro, yet they both articulate like the PAF's and have similar harmonics. So for Mock EMGS and being passive they don't sound too bad, so they might stay for a few more weeks until i decide to put the EMG's in. So i hope that helps someone.

Gee that's a reasonable price for here. I think it would probably be another $100 on top here in Canberra. benefits of Sydney being a larger city with more shops I guess.

There's nothing wrong with the 321MH, just that the 421EXFM looks nicer

Yeah when i saw the price i was like what the? When i bought the guitar the music shop had left overs from their 5th birthday sale, so i'm not sure if that was the sale price or RRP.
But IMO the shopping isn't that good here in Sydney, i think Melbourne has better shops.
