My new Ibanez RG

Hey all,

Well finally after about 3 months of having my Ibanez on lay-by (lay-away or something like that) i paid the final installment and picked it up today.

And here it is :

Its an Ibanez RGR421EXFM
Made in Indonesia in '07
Features an AANJ, Wizard II neck (bolt on)
Ibanez designed by EMG pickups
Fixed Bridge
Reverse Headstock
Mahogany Body with Flamed Maple Top (head stock to match)
Black Berry Sunburst finish

Its an exceptional guitar my first Ibanez

I'm going to leave it for now and next week i'm going to do a full setup on it
Just the regular (oil fretboard, Polish Frets, Replace Strings etc)

And the for the Icing on the Cake, I'm going to swap out the mock EMG's and Replace them with an 81/85 combo

Now some more Pictures:

Thanks,

I Would've put dimarzio's in it except their hard to get a hold of here, and my custom already has a set of Dimarzio Breeds, so i wanted something different, so i went with the Emg 81/85 combo.

IIRC I've seen that swirl before. Who swirled it?

Congrats on your new axe.

The neck feels great.

Its a wizard II so slightly fatter then the wizard, which is good i prefer the slightly fatter necks.

It has a Satin clear coat on the back which feels really good, personally i dislike the necks that have a lacquer finish. When your hand gets sweaty it gets harder to move, the satin doesn't really have that "stickiness" factor, but i prefer the un-finished necks above all else, the satin finish comes a very close second.

Hey another Aussie, excellent we need more aussies here

My friend has an RG370DX their not bad guitars, i tried one out in the shop a while before i bought the RGR421. Feels very similar to the 421 except the 370 has a trem.

Tremolo equipped guitars are great for all those weird sounds you can pull off with the whammy, but hardtails are the best for alternate tunings, which is one of the main reasons i bought the 421.
