My new RGT
I traded in my JS1000 awhile ago for this and some cash. For any one who think korean RGs are crap, you should really play this guitar. Plays flawlessly. but, I think someone might have touched up the frets because they are surprisingly nice. The EP2 isn't bad, but i keeped it blocked anyway. I used to HATE emgs but now I hear them in mahgany, i LOVE them. IMO, they don't sound good in basswood.
This necktrough is awesome, I'd rather have this than some prestiges. I think my next guitar will be the RGT42 hardtail.
i don't have a single complaint about it.
Thats my ****atiel, Curry. He has a beautiful white girlfriend named Powder. Get it? Curry Powder!

Lovely guitar you got there! How do you find the volute behind the nut, feel wise?

Re: My new RGT
The volute doesn't bother me. Why do they bother you?
I have a question. The body is Mahogany and the neck is maple and walnut, so if I sand it down, will it look like this?

Re: My new RGT
Yes. I have a Basswood RGT (that I'd love to sell) and I though about stripping the neck, or stripping the whole body. Then I thought about routing it down and adding a top wood, like the figured Maple RGT's.
Anyway it may have some uglier wood under there, but yes, my RGT has that type of striped neck under the finish, too. You can see it in the
pickup cavities
. That's why I think it would look so great stripped. Maybe I'll strip it and do a blue stain or something. Since yours is Mahogany, you could also tape off the neck and stain the Mahogany a little darker, or red-brown, or even SG red, and it would come out pretty nice, too. I'm stuck with Basswood, which doesn't stain well.

Re: My new RGT
there is one for sale locally for cheap that i've been eye-balling and i am also considering the DXFX hardtail version. neck-thru mahogany and cool black pearl (plastic of course) inlays on the
fixed bridge
for $579 isn't bad at all. the paint job is nicer on yours than the fixed bridge which is a flat black/grey. i'd have to give Sims (TN) a ring and have it repainted if i get the hardtail one. of course i'd also get the giger case as it looks just like the UV1000 with a black interior - sweet!

They are cute, but ****atiels make soooo much dust. I have to put a air filter next to thier cage. If I would turn the filter off and check back in a few days, the whole room would be snowing.
