My rg570 arrived today!
Well the title says it all. It has a SD jazz in the neck and a SD screamin deamon in the bridge. Both pickups sound completly awesome! So how do I tell the year by the serial number? The number is F916872... also should the trem bar be able to stay in the place you put it or should it just move around freely?
Well the guitar plays pretty good, but i need to set it up. So far it seems like a solid guitar!

Congratulations. The 5xx are good, but probably not good enough for a six string god (you'll see).
The F91 implies a 1991 guitar.
The Trem, I assume has the two nylon bushings. If you remove one, it should be able to swing freely. Otherwise it will stay where you put it.
I'm only a six string low level demon so my 570EX is okay for me.

F9xxxxx with the old heel would be a 1989.
Congrats. Jewel Blue is my favorite finish from that era.

Well the guitar is pretty nice so far and it sounds awesome. I love the screamin deamon pickup. Not as good as my next purchase (js1000) but good none the less. Well it has two white things on it.. im guessing nylon bushings but it swings freely...hmm

Your bushing need to be replaced, or you can try the nail polish trick.
Search Jemsite for that, it's been gone over 100 times already. :-)
They wear out over time and won't keep the bar in place, easily replacable.

Wasn't it only after 1997 that they switched to the last 2 digits of the year instead of the last one?
My RG100 starts with 7 and I was able to date it to 1987, so I guess 91 DOES mean 89....
I was thinking '91 too when I first saw it!
