My S540??

Hello people, I'm new here. *I found this site while looking for details on how to work on my Floyd Rose. *Of course, this is after I already messed it up trying to change the strings the same way I used to do it on my Strat. *If I'd have found this site a few days earlier, it wouldn't be wasting time in the shop right now

I have a few questions for you Ibanez gurus. *I have an S540, or so I believe. *Does anyone know the differences between the models? *Mine has white binding around a rosewood fretboard, double sharkstooth (or sharksfin, I don't remember the difference) fret markers, black chrome hardware, h-s-h config (it's in the shop, I think the hums were f1 at neck, f2 at bridge and maybe the sing was a c1), "Custom Made" inlay at 20th, dark green paint (a little metallic), the serial number starts out with F3..., and no indication of model or series on headstock, it just says Ibanez.
Can anyone tell me what model this is?

Also, what is the difference between a Lo Pro trem and a Lo Pro TRS? *I just wanna know to find out which mine has, and what to look at when I'm in the store looking at new guitars, to see if they have the cheaper trem.

Thank you for all of your help, and to whoever created this website, it rocks! *Very informative, thank you.

My S540??

540's came both ways. I had a 91S540FM that was S-S-H. They got away from those in the early 90's. I checked my 93 catalogue and yours is a S540LTD, but the catalogue shows that they came in Black, Emerald Green, Jewel Blue, and Lipstick Red. Was there every a S570? I don't remember that model number...

The main way to tell the difference in trems is the TRS has the Ibanez logo stamped by where you screw in the trem arm. Also, Edge's/LPE's arms push in, not screw in. It should also say Edge on the centerblock(or whatever that thing is that destends into the body)...

I don't think there ever was an S 570. I'll agree that you have a 93 540 LTD.
An SOL LTD sounds nice.

My S540??

I know for sure that there was at least an s560 made. On the Ibanez '99 site , there was this endorsed artist that had one that had "shark___" inlays. The easiest way to identify a lo-trs is that it is just a thin plate. I don't know about a 570, though...

I don't think there was an S 560. The earlier 540's were S-S-H, maybe that's what you were thinking of.
John Finn used to play an S 540 LTD, but I think he's been playing the S Classics lately.
No 5XX has ever come with a TRS trem.
