My Swirl!! WOOOOOO!!!!

My Herc swirl....
It's a '91 770
I think I'm going to put green pickups in it.
What do you guys think? Any other pickup colors you think
would look good? Has anyone successfully done anything different
with the shark fins??

Re: My Swirl!!

AWESOME SWIRL!

Very colorful.

You all are making me jealous. My Herc DNA swirl is getting cleared right now. All I have are pictures to look at.

Green pickups would look cool. Another suggestion is green and another color that is inside the swirl. And then you could make the middle pickup another totally different color.

As for the fretboard. Well, you could get a replacement fretboard with vines or LED's. I got my replacement fretboard from Jaden Rose Customs. He did my DNA fretboard, and it looks awesome.

Re: My Swirl!!

Thanks!! I love it..
You WILL love your swirl if Herc is doing it. The paint he uses is
quite expensive. When you get it, the colors will be much more
enhanced than the pix he sends you
IF people are patient, Herc's stuff is WELL worth the wait.

Do you know what brand and type of paint he uses?

Anyway, if you want to see pics of mine, go here

Swirlers never give their secrets away. Even if you get an answer like House of Colors, it's very likely it's misinformation.

The 2nd and 3rd pics look orange, but it's red..
The 1st pic shows the best color contrast.

Re: My Swirl!!

Looks great man! How about a combination of pickup colours in it. You could put green ones in the neck and bridge positions and say maybe a blue or yellow one as the single in the middle. Whatever combination you'd think will look best I suppose.

Re: My Swirl!!

That's an incredible swirl! Congrats.

I think a red/yellow red/blue combo of pickups would look cool.

Re: My Swirl!!

Dude thats a killer Fede swirl I love the subtle blues in there.

You can really do some cool color combo's with the pickups.

Looking forward too seeing it all put together..

That's an awesome DNA swirl.
Green pups would fit perfectly.
Congrats, and post pics of the finished babe.

Re: My Swirl!!

Good swirl. Even if Herc swirls always seem too bidimentional to me. Lack of marbling...

IMHO, I'd have kept that RG770 in Laser Blue. But now it's done, go for pickup colours as in the JEM-DNA. They will blend evenlier with the paintwork.
Multi-colour LEDS on fretboard would look great!

Yes...Herc's swirls have sharp, detailed lines. That's what I like about his swirls.
As far as colors go I know green will work but, I'm not sure if the top has
too much yellow in it for yellow pickups. I might do at least one bobbin
in yellow. So many choices....
I kinda think I should go with pickup colors that are the colors that have the least
amount of color on the top, as to help bring them out.

Does anyone have a swirl that's close to mine, as far as colors go, and
have put different color pickups in it?? If so, will you post a pic?
