Marshall is doing the same thing-- celebrating their 50th anniversary all year long with new micro amps to commemorate each decade-- but they have already announced all the models and the future release dates. I wonder which would be better: to know up front what the eight guitars will be, or to wait and see as the year progresses?

I'm not really keen on either the pink or yellow but on spec they're great guitars. A PN Premium XXV? A VVX that looks like a 570?!? hmmmm. That might be something. 570's got no play in any anniversary issue that I can recall.

sounds like, as each pair comes out there will be a large sell-off of the previous pair on the used market.........might be a good way to cash-in on a 1xxv.

I think if the economy gets a bit better the used market might become a little interesting.
You'll have people selling their Prestiges to get new Premiums and maybe people discouraged by Premiums and the nasty price hikes of MIJ gear snapping up those same late model Prestiges.

You think that there will be that many players with buyer's remorse as the year goes on and new models are introduced?

Those players who have an $8,000 Ibanez budget in 2012 will get an EVO replica. Those with an $800 budget have to wait and see what Ibanez offers or risk buyer's remorse. They won't be able to afford buying and then selling three new guitars to make sure they get the one they want.

Not this player. I'll be buying a bunch more used Ibby's from the 80's (and probably a few from 70's/90's). Unless they make a sweet 2012 show case model for <$4000...

It may be awhile. I've been working on getting my new page done, which it is. First time I've ever had all the model pages done before the show, and now they have all the pictures added. But the report will take a backseat to all the guitars I sold in the last few days [14] and I already had 4 on the board before I left. Most of those 14 are 12's and won't be in stock for awhile but a bunch are in stock, and paid customers waiting trumps NAMM report at the end of the day.

I'll work on it a little at a time as I have time ;(
