Re: NAMM 2012

I have to say...I'm seeing a few of the pink RG1xxv's in NGD threads and they are gorgeous guitars, but for some reason the pink sharkies are really throwing me off..........

I don't get it though, If they had the same color pink vines they'd be nearly identical to a VSK, which I'm secretly in love with.........the sharkies shouldn't bother me, but they do.

Anybody else feel this way???

Actually, they are the only thing I don't like about the guitars. If they came with colored dot inlays I would ignore every other similarly priced guitar to get them.

It really bothers me on the FYE because it doesn't match the body at all.

That's the same damn thing I'm seeing......... I wish I could fall in love with it, but I can't..........fortunately, there's still the 70V SFG!!!!

The sharkies look alright to me... the flash washed out the glow but in person they looked great..

You cant expect an inlay to be as glossy neon as a painted body with tonnes of clearcoat on it..

I ordered a RG1xxv in FYE, I will post pics when I receive. I am a sucker for bright colors.

Excited!

In the US, yes, but they didn't say what case it will come with.

Re: NAMM 2012

There's a nice beauty shot of the FYE in the new Guitar World. Very nice! The 25th colors aren't really me but I'm looking forward to when the Premium line makes a regular solid color 550ish style guitar.
Also when does the 570 body style get some love? All anniversaries seem to be the 550 design. Just a thought.

Re: NAMM 2012

I'm pleasantly surprised by Ibanez's guitars shown in this NAMM 2012 thread. It's actually got me a little excited. The last time I was excited about a lot of Ibanez's new releases was in 1991/92, and that was pre-forum-internet-high-quality-pictures-everywhere.

It consisted of me going to my "local" guitar shop, pleading to take home the new Ibanez catalog (because the shop owner liked to make me beg for some reason...I was also in my early teens...hmmm...), and pining over the guitars on the train ride home.

It's also funny to see that I can now see that there actually is a cycle here at jemsite. The names are different, but the arguments are still the same. lol. Good to see Rich is still around keeping it real.
