Need Help With s-540 Neck question

I have a s-540 Ltd I think. It is the purple neon finish - dimarzio ibf hum-single-hum, black chrome hardware, edge trem. Here is the weird part, I bought the guitar used about 8 months ago. But It never really hit me, the neck inlays are sharktooth which would be correct for that model but there is no custom made inlay at 21st fret, just a regular sharktooth. Neck is japanese though, ser# F927095 Does that make any sense? under the ibanez logo it dosent say s series or anything like that and neck is bound. I did take neck off to look at stamps, it has a red L stamp and so does the neck pocket on the body. Any help would be appreciated.

540SLTD's from 1989 didn't have the custom inlay at the 21st fret, but then, they also didn't come in purple.

so aside from the colour, this seems to be your guitar.

of course, it could always just have a neck from a different guitar.

I have one LTD too that I think is just that -89 Desert Sun Yellow. It also has a tooth in the 21st fret. the weird part in my guitar is that it doesn´t have serial # anywhere!? www.angelfire.com/bug/kaavio/S540esittely.html

Heka that looks just like my neck, except for mine is purple neon.
