Re: New guitar?

I've got an '87 Jem 777DY that is completely stock.

Fantastic guitar.

The action on it is set quite low, and it is a very fast playing guitar. It's tonal quality lends it to all the music styles you've listed.

I play mainly Hard rock/instrumental.

My question about that would be the condition of the guitar. 88 was a long time ago. that's a 20 year old guitar. Neck condition and fret wear would be a concern to me.

I'm playing mine through a Marshall jcm88 or AVT 20 with little to no effects in line, and get a very good rock tone out of it.

I've no experience with any of the other guitars you've listed.

Hope that helps a little.

Re: New guitar?

I doubt you'll go wrong with the Ibanez SV 5470, but try searching for the different models and read what people here has already said about the mentioned guitars.

Re: New guitar?

Thanks for the answers. The JEM is on the german ****.de site when you click highest articles first its somwhere in the top half. Its got some small cracks and stuff but the neck and trem are in perfect condition. Curently i have only the Jem,SV5470 adn the Bo-El MC6 left to choose. It sucks that in our country there are only few guitars in the price range that can be tested. Most advices that have been given to me were to buy the JEM, but 1500 euros and a bad used guitar will destroy me financialy, thats why im considering the new ones.

The Bo-Els have extremely good reviews and since the company is pertty unknown i think that they want to get known by making quality guitars. The Jem777 is used and thats where my worries come from. SV5470 is very slick guitar, but ill have to change the pickups eventualy. Also the Bo-El Marcel Coenen uses has a very good whammy bar. Ill read all the reviews for the SV on this site and than in a week or so decide which one to buy.

The new ones will lose price soon, and the Jem777 if its in perfect condition will posibly be eaven more exensive in a few years. Its also bad that the Jem doesnt suit my visual tastes, but im trying not to think about that since visual appearance isnt important.
