New Line Up

There was a thread on here voting for your favorite JS. I voted, then it got me thinking. I haven't got one of those!

So here it is the new line up.

Left to Right

JS1200CA JEM7VWH RG1570 PRESTIGE

Any comments?

Not pictured to maintain dignity Sunn Mustang, Fender DG15 and Yamaha RB270

PS hope my friends don't see it because they'll all take the P*** as I cannot actually play them very well....YET!

Very nice. I love the JEM7VWH. I love the action on it. I just wish it was possible to get in silver as opposed to gold metal. I'm not a gold fan.

Re: New Line Up

^ I read that you can actually use a special polish and take off the gold. A few Jemsiters have done this with nice results.

I'm on the fence about keeping my 7VWH as I don't take it to many shows since it is too much bling for the type of clubs/bars I play at.

Re: New Line Up

Nice collection there.

I too hope to have a JS1200CA hanging next to my RG550MXXRF someday, but like you I have a LOT of work to do to develop my skill to justify owning multiple really *nice* guitars. LOL

PS - how do you like the neck on your JS compared to your JEM and RG?

PPS - I can't tell from the picture but what color is your RG1570?

I'm not a gold fan either, but for some reason on this guitar it works. As a matter of fact I've just got a new trem as because the finish had faded it wasn't gold enough! I even saw a Jem for sale once where the owner had a trem arm gold plated! Bling bling!

The neck is a bit fatter, a bit more like a strat the fret wire is a nice size not overly big. The headstock not sloping back looks weird (also like a strat). I think the neck will take a bit of getting used to, but does seem comfortable.

The RG is the MRB a flip blue/green sparkly number that always look black on pics, trust Ibanez they even want their blue guitars to look black!!

Thanks for that. The Jem is a '97, the inlay looks nice and bright against the ebony still. I'm going to bring it up a bit by putting a new trem and tuners on. I've already replaced pickguard screws as the were going black. I thought about the J1000, my girlfriend preferred that colour, but I already have had three blue ones and I fancied a change. Is colour only difference?

I think the 1200 should have all gold hardware (to match the headstock) or all silver with a silver headstock. Looks a bit weird to my eyes.

Good eye

I guess since I haven't seen one in person it never crossed my mind and considering I spend most of my time looking at Jems and RG style gits.

I have a friend that just grabbed a JS1200 so I might have to give it a test drive sometime.
