New Member - need your input on an RG620

Hey all - good to be here. Just bought a new Ibanez RG620XGB and was wondering if anyone else plays one. What do you think of it? Is it a new model?
Thanks for your input!

don't have one, but you might be able to find out what it is was introduced by looking up the catalogs at ibanezrules.com.

It's new for 2002.

I've got one, actually had to go through two of them to get one that was quiet, but now I am pretty happy with it. IMHO, it's just as good as the Prestige model if you get it setup the right way. Also, I would recommend getting rid of the V pickups, I replaced the bridge pickup with a Tone Zone and couldn't be happier.

I think it's because of the electrical system in my house, but when trying to run into two seperate amps I got noise from a ground loop.

Enjoy it!

I got the chance to play one a short while back. I loved it, felt and played just like my 570, only it had piezo pups in it. I didnt instantly fall in love with the piezo sound, but eh, it was groovy, and im sure it would grow on me. but once again, how about a GOOD color other than some variation of black?! please?

I agree that dark colors are way too popular with Ibanez. Although the Galaxy Black is by far one of their better creations - I happen to love the finish on this guitar.

I just thought of a couple of things that I don't like about the 620X:

1. It should have been a 670X. Give it a single coil. I think the 3 & 4 switching positions (Jem/RG) using the single coil/bridge humbucker would sound incredible combined with the piezos.

2. Something is wrong with the output jack's position. I find that my guitars cord falls out far too easily. Because of the design of the output jack, it is impossible to correct this by bending the "tip" commonly found on other output jacks.

3. Should have come with the video

Thanks for all of the responses!
I am really enjoying the 620 so far - I like the finish, and the piezos were something that I knew that I would only use occasionally, but they are nice to have. Also, I usually prefer the two humbucker configuration because my picking style causes me to knock against middle single coils. Not a tradgedy, just annoying!
What I'm really lusting after now is the RGT3120......... STOP THE INSANTITY!!!!!!!!
