New Trem System - individual strings!!!!

Holy crap, i just saw this on the Petrucci boards:
Tremologic

Each string has its own trem, so you could bend different strings different ways, keep other strings in tune when bending... all kinds of stuff!

i don't know that it's ibanez specific, but i wasn't sure where to post this (gear?).

It has nothing to do with Ibanez.

I've tried it, and it's cool that you can raise and lower pitch at the same time on two different strings. It also gives a lot of new options with chords.

To my knowledge they are working on a version with a bar, in order to use it as a regular all-at-once tremolo.

Pretty clever, but I would think it requires some serious effort to master.

The possibilities with something like that would be really interesting, but much like the that "back-and-forth frictionless" trem, optical pickups, and other high-falutin' vaporware miscellany, in the absence of a convincing proof-of-concept all that can be said is, "meh."
