NGD 1986 Pro Line Series PL1770

Got this Friday a the pawn shop again for a measely $200. 1986 Pro Line Series with original case. Missing whammy bar but did have an original truss wrench which I've been looking for for quite a while now for my "91 USA Custom. The color is Copper Metallic. @nd year wizard neck with Ebony fret board and thick binding with a thin black line in the middle of binding all the way around the neck. I think this was the first year of the Edge tremolo. It's top mounted so I can finally get a D-Tuna. Also has this crazy preset for the pickups. One button turns the system on, the 3 white buttons are on/off for eack pickup and the last button splits the hum. You can set it for any combo you want. A little easier than fumbling with the 5-way selector. This is the first ebony neck I've had and it is simply amazing. Very smooth and with adler body it is really bright sounding. On the clean channel it almost sounds like an acoustic. Jackson sued Ibanez back then for the pro line V being too close to their Rhoads so these were only made for '85-'86 but the '86 had the Edge. What do you think?

Oooh! Looks really nice! I had one of those in silver back in the 80's. Really nice guitar.
For $200 it's a steal. Congrats!

Great deal indeed !! I have two 1770's, one black and one gold. Great guitars !!!

I also have the neck-thru 2550. These are seriously underated guitars !!

Good score !!

Looks AWESOME!!! I think that's a cool color! Something different from the recent, black theme and variations. I'm wishing I would have gotten that one and the one I got, but why should I start hoarding all the Prolines? Congrats on a great deal!!

Yes they are..I have a 1770 gold pearl and both of the 1880s
I would give anything to get the neck finish from these on my 550.
I know they oil the neck but it's the semi-rough finish I like as well.
I wonder what grit they stop at??
