Re: NGD (Ibanez Rules content) :)

I love the old style neck joint

I ordered it with a silver level package, but thanks to the phillies distracting Rich, I got a gold +

I can not emphasize how much you all need to give your money to Rich if you haven't done it already, this was the first for me but it will not be the last! The guitar plays so well it's ridiculous, and he really is the man to deal with. I have never met anyone who replies to email as fast as Rich, at almost every hour of the day!

I've had the guitar for two days now, and I haven't been able to put it down to take pictures until now

Congrats! Your pics are swaying me towards the Red 770 over the blue ;p Congrats and I agree about Rich, buying a guitar from him is well worth the money!

I just wish I could have more NGDs, but apparently you need money for rent and food and crap? Whats up with that!?

Re: NGD (Ibanez Rules content) :)

Well, I'm jealous. If I could have any new Ibanez right now, it'd be that reissue. I've seen some originals for sale, but no red one.

Re: NGD (Ibanez Rules content) :)

i've been wondering, do square heels restrict access to higher frets badly compared to an AANJ?

i've always been put off all square heel ibanez's for that reason, but i'd like to know.

Re: NGD (Ibanez Rules content) :)

That heel on that reissue is kinda like an old-school AANJ. It you can see the wood carved out to make it more comfortable. The hinderance caused by a square heel is greatly overstated. Go play a Strat and see what really restricts you. It will be the cutaway and not the neck joint. Alternatively, I think the benefits of a square heel tone-wise are also greatly overstated.

I'd take a square heel joint any day as long as the cutaway is deep enough. I like the way it looks and the way it feels better. The Ibanez AANJ doesn't bother me enough to not buy one with it though.
