NGD: PGM100 - Who needs a reissue anyway?:D
A
PGM
has been on my GAS list for a long time, but I really liked to have one with a tremolo which really narrows down the options and opportunities (although chances are probably bigger here than in the US). So when I came across this one on a (national, Dutch) buying/selling website I couldn't resist:
It's from 1990, trem is in good shape (I'm actually the second owner now) and it plays great. I'm happy.

It actually does have some damage: the story behind this guitar is that it has had a neck crack, near the scarf joint obviously. The best thing about neck cracks is that if it is repaired right, it probably never breaks on that same spot again. Other than a dent on the bottom back side and off course faded pickups and f-holes (see all Road Flare Red/Shocking Pink Ibanez guitars from 80s/early 90s), it's in good shape.

It's lookin' good!
I only wish things like that were easier to find in england! I'd be swimmin' in old Ibanez' by now if so!
Play it well!

Here's the one I got from the previous owner:
It probably looks worse than it is since the previous owner never refinished it to prevent more 'bumps'. It is always kinda scary to have a guitar with such a history, but on the other hand it probably also got me a good deal.

Hadn't thought of that one yet. Good one to tell anybody who asks why I didn't buy the reissue.

Well, than you'll probably still see it because of the different shades, and I like my necks as bare/smooth as possible. The lacquer/varnish that's on it has been on it since 1990, so it's smooth as hell now.

I know what you mean, my Jem had very similar damage at one point before I bought it, maybe not quite as extensive as I'm seeing in that picture. The seller originally bought it to fix it and assured me that you couldn't feel the repair at all and would never know it was there if you didn't look for it. I bought it because, as you say, it was a good deal, and he was right, the repair is super clean. In 5 years or so, I've never had the slightest problem with it.
