NGD...Rare Ibby Content

I've been looking for one of these pretty dilligently for about 2 years now. Something about them that appeals to me.....and I'm not even a Tele fan. This is a 580B-MH Ballback from 1988. For whatever reason they never caught on. I tuned her up and ran her through my 6505, and I gotta say it doesn't disappoint at all. Top marks all around for this one.

Yeah, they're probably the kind of guitar you either like or don't like. Myself, besides the rarity factor.....really like how it's really nice shredder in a traditional guitar disguise.

Re: NGD...Rare Ibby Content

Is that HB/S/S configuration original?

I have one of those with but with HB/HB configuration.

Love mine though. Heavy as **** and tons of tone.

Re: NGD...Rare Ibby Content

It's worth having for the rarity factor alone and that thing is RARE!!! I'm not really a fan of Tele's but I like that guitar. Nice score mate!

Not sure of the original configuration, though I suspect it's been modified to be an H/S/S. The wooden bezels appear to be non original. It is indeed heavy....surprisingly so, but the tone that comes out of this thing is crazy. Maybe it's just a case of being infatuated by the new one, but the harmonics just explode out of this thing.....it's insane, these screaming harmonics literally without even trying to get em......probably a good thing Zakk Wylde doesn't have one.....haha.

I. Daemon.....thanks man, I agree, this one'll be here for awhile. I wonder how many of these were produced in total. I imagine it couldn't be more than a few thousand, if even that many.

Re: NGD...Rare Ibby Content

I'd say there would have been much less than a few thousand of those made. How often do you see that model anywhere on the internet or up for sale? Not often. It'd be great to find out how many were made for sure.

Re: NGD...Rare Ibby Content

That will leave nasty holes in the pickguard. Just leave as is.

Not sure I understand why someone would go this route on a 580B.

Huh? I guess I didn't know as much about Ibanez models as I thought. I've never seen one before. This must be the inspiration for the FR1620, I assume?
