I've had my 540P-II for 1½ month or so, and I spent many hours playing it yesterday. I brought it to band practice today, and WHOA, it is a lot easier to play than my old guitar, meaning that I have a lot more energy left over for making up sweet melodies. However, because the old guitar is harder to play, I am going to keep playing it to build strength and precision. It's a win-win situation

The yelllow one on page one, a custom made guitar that I bought in Prague on a holiday. The action is about the same, but it is strung with 10's instead of 9's, and the neck is a lot fatter. What was yours?

I'm still playing my Gibsons a lot (a weird VOS Les Paul 57 with a wraparound

- and the little ES339- very reliable in most music case I play with my band) and, talking about Ibanez, I use the PGM over the RGs.
I've also recently sold a faded SG. But the bat-540PII seems to do the SG job pretty well if not better... I'll figure it out.

I haven't played an SG myself, but aren't they really really different beasts?

I was thinking about getting custom pickguards made for mine. One with a black top and white "binding" would be kind of cool and suit the guitar very well. I would also really like a dark green and a dark red one. Oh, and a completely white one. And maybe a transparent one for fun. And a pink one for when I feel pretty. And a Hello Kitty one. Definetly. Maybe a yellow one also.

Maybe you should bat-theme the guitar with a painted pickguard?

Btw, I recorded a little impro-ditty with my 540PII here.

And yes the SG is not a 540PII!

But let's say I use the 540PII the same way I used the SG.
And yes the Yellow pg is basically a good idea. But I also consider getting me a whole batsuit. so I won't mod my 540

All locking nuts on all 540PII's I've ever seen has been black - at least that's what my 540PII porn folder tells me (10+ guitars), no exceptions.

Same amp preset with first neck riff, then adding a middle riff and doubled bridge riff.

Yesterday evening, suddenly I've decided to swap the edge with a Lo pro edge (I bought for my 550DY), as the bat-babe already stole the show to my whole little collection, becoming my main guitar. I also wanted to swap the top locks black pads for cosmos. That's when I found out the 540PII top lock is larger in width but shorter in height.
Why?
Did Gotoh (or the hardware manufacturer by the time) wanted to keep the exact same amount of material ?
I'll guess we'll never know.
