NGDTDBY: 540P-II (+ other guitars)

Hey all

I just want to show off my new black 540P-II which is my "New Guitar That I Got The Day Before Yesterday". When I got it, it wasn't in the best shape ever (pics of cleaning will come later), but now that I cleaned it really feels like it has a great vibe

In case yesterday when the fretboard had just sucked oil for hours:

Headstock - the signature on the yellow one is Uli Jon Roth's:


There are only three strings on it so far as I have some EMG's arriving friday or tomorrow, so I will need to make some space for them.
I am really positively surprised by the F2 and F3, they actually sounds quite good through my Peavey Classic 30 (the most metal amp on earth).

I think I like playing my 540PII more than my Jem. The wide neck feel awesome to me. Plus, I love the styling.

Awesome new axe man, love the P-IIs, wish I could get my hands on one big time. I fell in love with them when I saw Alex Skolnick on the cover of Guitar School with one back in the early nineties.

@LonePhantom: I hear that they were hard as hell to sell in Australia. If you are really god damn bloody lucky (and I WILL hate you if you are), there could be shops in Australia which still have it lying around. None the less, the guitar WAS actually sold in Australia (as opposed to Denmark where I come from, I think).
If you are absolutely fanatic about getting it, you could put up notes in the super markets and see if you get any replies. Bet there are some lying around.

It's just some stuff that I read on an internet forum in a post from 2006:

I remember here in Australia.......well Sydney anyway, when the 540PII was released they couldn't give the things away & they were going for ridiculous closeout prices, I look back & think damn I should have grabbed one. The neon orange & desert yellow looked awesome, but the black is way cool. I personally think it would look bitchin if you were to fill in the holes for the pick guard or use a clear pickguard & get it done in a black & white swirl. Aggressive, understated, yet very elegant all at the same time. Thats my $0.02's worth anyways.

Heh, I was pretty cooked up when I was about to get mine too. Some advice: Relax, it'll come eventually. Remember to play what you have right now so that you can get better.
