Nice Guitar Trade - what do you think?

So I have this JS 100, that I'm really not happy with, and one day I walk into a music store and find a desert yellow rg550, It's in near perfect condition, only thing wrong is paint wear. So a friend of mine works at the store. Here's the deal: He's going to put the pyramid inlays in pink and yellow I believe, yellow evolutions, straplocks, and scallop the last 4 frets for me in exchange for my satch!! He wants that satriani real bad!!
So What do you think?

As long as he makes a good job of it I'd say it was fair enough!

You must have a really rare JS100... It's a weird exchange for him, a good one for you... Fishy? Well... Too good to be true? Yes. Should you avoid? No.

As long as there isnt some kind of hidden damage to the dY I'd go for it in a heartbeat.......

Re: Nice Guitar Trade - what do you think?

The guy trading is a friend of mine, i've seen the guitar and played it. It's in good condition. The js still has the old trem on it, but it's still the crap trem compared to the one that they put on the old rg's, jems, and uni's.
He likes the guitar for it's bluesy tone, he's more of a gibson type o guy, so the guitar fits him a whole lot better than the desert yellow that he thought was a horrible guitar.

Check the back of the DY's headstock, and make sure there aren't cracks running out of the bolt holes. Other than that.... Those DY 550's rock!

Ok new info on this trade, since they apparently don't make evolution middle pickups, I'm now getting the HS/YJM pickup in yellow for the middle pickup!!

Thumbs up

Re: Nice Guitar Trade - what do you think?

Go for it but did you know that in early jems they used DiMarzio PAF Pro pickups. Anyway, you should do it.

Unless he is a real pro at inlay and electronics, i'd say trade him for the 550 before he potentially butchers it.

It's still a good deal, even without the mods.

Sounds like a good deal. MIJ RG 550 customized? Awesome. Isn't the JS 100 Korean?

Yeh, I think the JS100 is Korean dude.
I'd have the RG550 any day of the week.
