Here are some shots of my latest 540R grab. 1987 (oops on the thread title) serial number 540R in some cream color. The color is a little metalic so when light hits is certain ways it looks white. This freaked me out for a bit at first because when playing, all of a sudden you'd see an edge shining in white and think that it was a spot that had been worn down through the paint. When the light hits the front just so, it looks like a white burst. Feels great on as well. I had a redburst Pro540R a few months back that just sat wrong on me. Dumped it quick. This one, though, sits just right. I changed the wiring to Dan Armstrong's
Super Strat wiring and put a push/pull pot in for the Tone control that toggles the humbucker between parallel and series wiring. Parallel is the down switch position to better match the output of the "single coils." There are several dings and fisheyes but I'll live with them utill I find a better condition and better feeling PRO540R in the same color.
