Finally someone else! My Lo TRS has been a complete PAIN IN THE ASS about this! I finally just gave up, lopped it out the guitar, and sanded down those damn blocks and sand em flat. They were a PAIN to get out, they have these little tabs on the bottom that hook them in, ya gotta take the saddle off and pop the tab out and then get a pair of pliers and try to get it out, took my like 15 minutes for both the blocks that are teh worst offenders. The high E and G strings do this all the time. And I sanded them completely flat, and my high E string popped out AGAIN yesterday anyway. I cant for the life of me figure out how to fix it.

Seems like my last resort to sand them flat doesnt even work. It's a 2002 RG470. I was hoping I could somehow fix it but I put it back in there and I dont have the intestinal fortitude to go at it again. Seems like a 1 step bend is it all it can muster. Im not sure what else I can actually do to fix it. But I dont know, maybe I did fix it and jsut didnt clamp it tight enough? I hope so, because Im tired of this!

Damn, looks like you have a pretty bad trem, erm how about try getting a new trem or sumthing?

I am planning to get a RGT42 which has a Lo-Trs bridge, i was curious how the hell can a screw hold the string in place without falling out while strumming the guitar.

I used to have trouble with that, with an older Lo-TRS II in a RG-470DX. Sometimes when I'd pull back it'd just rip out the G string. Pain in the neck, and I've never done that with a Edge variant. Yet another reason to spend the extra cash.

Allparts is extremely overpriced and I doubt they sell lo profile Floyd saddles, as far as I know you cant buy them anywhere...

The problem is I've only actually restrung it twice, and I've had it for about a month and a half, and I've gone through nigh on 4 or 5 G strings and at least 3 high E strings. It's a brand new guitar... Ugh the only alternative I can see at the moment is to procure a Lo Pro Edge off of Ebay and use its saddles, hopefully they'll work...

I could swap it out with an OFR, but I dont have the equipment to bore out the holes for the new bushings, and there are NO techs in this area, much less any that know what they're doing. I wish I could find that website that details what all tehy had to do to drop an Edge into a Lo Pro cavity, sometimes it seems like they dont have to really mod the guitar all that much...

Ugh I'm DESPERATE, anyone know what I can try to do?

It's under warranty, let your dealer take care of it

I'd like to move up to Edge saddles, having this happen again is not something I'd enjoy too much. Lord knows the damn thing has caused enough anguish for me. Do you think they could procure some cosmo Lo TRS saddles for me? I don't want to make unreasonable requests of these people nor do I really want to part with the guitar, it's great besides those damn string saddles!

Thanks everyone.

Also, is it still under warranty now that I've taken the blocks out and sanded them flat? I figured after that I'd be out of luck...

This may be a stupid question but are you fully seating the string before you clamp it down? Of course I have no experience with a TRS but Edge/LP saddles crimp the tip of the string when it's fully seated before clamping.

I stick it down in there as far as it will go, and I can see where it bottoms out and the string will sort of slide to either side of the bottom of the block, and I try to seat it as clos to the middle as possible.

When they pop out the string has a slight curvature to it as it goes over the saddle and then after that were it bends down sharply(at the clamp) there is about... I would say...at least 7 or so mm of bent string where it was in the clamp. And when I took it apart it seemed consistent with the depth of the compartment. The only thing I can think of is that the block is somehow not clamping right... But its flat so.. ?? Moreover, I went from jsut getting it 'snug' in the beginning to torquing on it til I thought it was about to break the last few times, doesnt seem to make a difference.

I still hope it's something Im doing though, it's a lot easier to figure out how to do something right than to start spending money to replace things but I'm desperate.

I would think if it were some sort of fault in my methods it would be a lot more common, I've asked around and it seems like no one has ever even heard of this kind of thing happening. Which is just crazy.... Oh well.

good thing i started this thread, i am going for a RG421 now lol, avoid the trem bridges and go with a hardtail.

Well DirtyBird31, if i were you, i would take it back to the place you bought it from since you said it's still under warranty, if the shop won't take it back, send it to Ibanez...

Hope this helps
