Old RG from the 80's... anybody some info on them?

Hi, does anybody know something about the early RG's with only one humbucker and two single coils and no all-access neck joint? Was their quality good? Very good? Same as the latest RG's? Somebody is offering one of those RG's Body, neck, half the tremlo... (needs new paintjob) for 130 euro's.. maybe a nice try-out guitar? Or shall I just stick with my JEM77DY and don't waste the money?

earlier RGs were BETTER then the '90 ones. go for it and you won't regret, you'll just have to swap the pickups, unless they are IBZ/USA.

There are no pickups in it.. It has a hum-sing-sing configuration... I could put a Breed and two Fast Tracks in there... but that's another subject on another forum...

The H-S-S configuration was the RG560. The older ones without the AANJ were (are) great guitars. Well made, good quality. I like the old ones better than the new ones, with the exception of the neck joint, and I'm really pretty indifferent about that. However, for about 175 Euros, you could buy complete old-style RG's guitars off eBay all day long (plus shipping of course).

That said, the make GREAT project guitars. I've got three RG500-series guitars lined up for projects myself.

What? For only 175 Euro's? That would even be a better deal! Saves a bucket of paint... of course it's nice to create your own guitar.. but it's a little bad timing at this moment for me... maybe messing (Pickups e.d.)with a complete one will be a better idea..

Thanks all for the comments!

Amir.
