Old School Ibanez 430SII

Item # : 290258455531

For that price it seems kind of steep, especially with another $40 for shipping & handling, plus that tremolo seems kind of iffy. I'm half tempted to buy it and turn it into a total shred machine with new pickups, and paint job but it seems like a lot for something so old.

Anyone ever own one of these and have problems with it?

A HQ trem is on there. Same one you can find on Maxas MX-3. Great trem.

Re: Old School Ibanez 430SII

I owned a 430SII for a couple of years. That guitar took the prize for the absoulute thinnest Ibanez neck I've ever owned, and I've owned quite a few. It was listed as a Wizard, but was extraordinarily thin even by Wizard standards. I don't know if mine was unusual in that respect, or if they all came that way. Mine was perfectly straight, but I'd be very concerned about warpage and twisting with a neck of those dimensions. Also, it just felt wrong in my hands -- way too edgy.

Re: Old School Ibanez 430SII

I've got one of those, very nice guitar. It had one of the absolutely thinnest necks ever and had Gotoh locking tuners stock - I've since swapped the neck with a Carvin neck:

A black one went one evilbay not too long ago for pretty cheap. That's not a bad price on that one, but he started at like $600 over a month ago, I think.
