Re: Petie joins the Swirl Brigade

It's not really a PMC colour scheme, but it looks super cool - keep us posted on progress........

Re: Petie joins the Swirl Brigade

Yeah, it's more "PAW" with a bit of purple, and if I really wanted a PMC look I'd go for one like the prototype in the old catalog shot, with all that orange. I saw this the other day and had to have it, so it's going to be my Xmas present

I'm going to wait for a nice Japanese RG neck to appear on a certain auction site, but I will get it modified by a local tech who does amazing work. I'll probably get smaller frets installed, and as for inlays I want to stay away from anything that looks too "Jem-y," so I'll have a good long think about what to do there. Maybe I should get a Christopher Woods neck with LEDs but I don't know how that all works - if I need to get the body modified to accommodate the neck's electronics or whatever.

I think I'll go for a DNA-style pickguard.

I'm also thinking about having all the hardware powder-coated in the colours of the swirl.

Awesome colors, exactly the colors I would have picked. I looked in to getting the LEds done, it was the guy who did steve vai's and is located in the UK. He said all I had to do was send him the neck, the body wasn't needed for the job ??

LEDS would look awesome to but pricey..

Re: Petie joins the Swirl Brigade

that looks great Petie! really dynamic!

i think the coloured hardware could look tacky though, just my first reaction...
powder cosmo like the dna would be one of my picks...

Beautiful swirl. I never liked swirls when I first discovered them but hanging around Jemsite has converted me. There are so many custom jobs like this one that just look amazing. ...need to control my GAS!

That's a nice swirl, Petie. I'm not much of a swirl fan but this one is good. Nice, sharp lines, and some interesting patterns. Should make a cool guitar.

Oh wow that's really lovely!! Very psychadelic looking! Will the headstock be matching? That's going to be one beautiful guitar when it's all done! Enjoy it!

Re: Petie joins the Swirl Brigade

Thats super sweet. I love the swirl blob thing that looks like a snake's head (just above the bridge pickup routing)
