PGM lovers, which is the quintessential PGM?

Hi folks, I'm quite new to the PGM, but lately have been quite interested in them.

There's so many PGMs out there that it's not even funny. Some with the floating trem, some fixed bridge, etc..

If I can own just one PGM, which PGM model (PGM300, PGM500, etc) would you recommend?

Thanks a bunch!

I dont know the names, but Id either have the Purple/blue/pink one, or the white/maple one with the tremolo. Id have to sit for a while to decide. I like them simple, I dont care much for the extremely fancy stuff.

If I could only choose one, it'd be the PGM800. It's a tone monster. But let's face it, you can't own just one! --Jason

True...the 800 is a beast. After that, I would recommend the 301 or 500.

Despite the fact that I just traded it away, I'd say the 500. That being said, I've never actually played an 800...

Thanks guys!

I'll be making a trip to Japan next month, and will be looking for a nice PGM guitar there. I'll keep my eyes open for the PGM300, PGM500, and PGM800, and see which one I can bring back home

There are always 300's for sale. The rest would depend on how long you were there to wait for something to pop up.

I am a huge PGM200 fan. Thats the one I have always wanted, and lusted after. Its always the way isnt it, the one you want is always one of the rarer ones. But I am confident I will own one eventually!

Apart from that, my favourite is probably the current PGM301. I just think it is a cracking guitar all-round, and it plays lovely.

I've only owned a PGM10th, 300, and 301.
I'd have to say that the 300 was the best... had a nice laquer on the neck and fretboard, not that satin stuff so everything is matte (a la 10th and 301). Sounded a lot more lively than the 10th and 301. Plus, for some reason, that's the one I identify Paul with. It was certainly the one I saw the most print ads for.

Exactly. It just screams 80's excess, over-the-top style. Its just so radical and its absolutely screams the 80's. Thats the one I want the most.
