PGM neck - is it the same as a wizard?...

Hi Everyone,

I was just wondering if the PGM neck was a wizard... From the Japanese Ibanez site the PGM300 neck (listed as type PGM) looks to have the same dimensions as a normal wizard. Does anyone know about this?... Also, the fret wire is listed as "Jumbo"... does anyone know what it is (6100, 6105 etc...).

I'm pretty sure it's the wizard, the PGM30 has the wizard II neck.

I like PGM's but your still better off buying an RG unless you really want a fixed bridge.

Thanks for the info, but the PGM300 has a Lo-Pro....and I think the PGM100 did also or at least an edge....

I played a PGM neck a few years ago & it had frets more like 6100s, not 6105s.
Ibanez jumbo frets look more like the Dunlop 6100. Compared to a Gibson jumbo fret, they're taller.
These "nit picky" things are the kinds of things I wish manufacturers could standardize. I think there are several makers of frets, hence different specs. I think Warmoth addresses this on their website.
A 6100 was the wide/tall fret as on a Floral JEM.
As of late, Mr. Vai prefers the same fret type as Mr. Van Halen: the 6105, tall narrow.

LiX
