pgm30 or rg-550?!?!?!

Hey Guyz...i have a PGM30wh signed by paul gilert himself during his clinic....Here's the problem.
I'm a huge fan of maple fretboards...should i sell my pgm away and buy an RG-550 for the fretboard and EDGE and swap the pickups.....or should i just keep the PGM and pop in some better pickups on it?!?!?!?!
which would be a wiser move?!?!
hope you guyz can help me out on this...

Keep the PGM and save $300. You can buy 550's all day long for this amount of money, a lot of times for under $300 with upgraded pickups.

If its signed by the man, i would keep it and stick some dimarzios (see other threads for detailed disscusions of different dimarzios) in it, just 2 make it scream. Rg550s are really easy 2 find, you could pick one up 2nd hand in poor condition for only a bit more than a couple of new dimarzios (at least in england you can!)

okAy....so thats 2 votes for the PGM.....any ideas on how i can get a maple neck on the PGM?!??!?!?
and...do u guyz think dimarzio's x2n will suit my playing style??...i play some Vai...some gilbert and a lil bit of everything...
what pickup combinations do u guyz suggest?!

hey guys....izzit possible if i send my pgm neck to strip of the rosewood fret board and stick on a new maple one??!?!?!....and sand the neck down too so it feels like a wizard neck??!!
any suggestions on who to send it to and what will the prices be like?!

doing that might cost you quite a bomb dude. i was looking to re-fret my 550 several years back in Singapore and they wanted a couple hundred dollars for it. you're talking about some major surgery on your guitar dude... it'll probably cost less to just buy a used RG550.


P.S. RG550 = dA bOmB

i was thinking of actually sending it to US to maybe rich or jeremy to do it.....i'm sure they'll charge a much reasonable price compared to the singapore fella~+_+~
any other suggestions?!?!

Yeah save up and buy a PGM300 from Japan (Better quality, Better trem better pups, better)

Or get a new neck made but for the money and inconvinience your willing to go through I'd live with the 30 for now and aim for the 300

If i get a new neck it wouldn't have the PGM headstock rite??!!how much do u think it would cost on the fretboard replacing and sanding?
by the way....how much are PGM300's going for?
