The Double Edge? Absolutely. I just got back from practice and used my 2020 for the first time since I wired a DiMarzio TZ & Air Norton in it (the Ibanez V-7&8, well...you know). The piezo is a dream for acoustic parts - really makes a difference and is easy to switch in & out of.

The last time I saw one (an RG2020XTB) it was going for $600 which I would say is a decent deal.

Inthe words of Bueller:

"If you have the means, I highly recommend getting one, they are so choice."

My $.02 anyway.

I had one of my friends telling me the other day that the piezo bridge sounds plain weak. He didnt think much of it.
I personally thinks it sounds very clear.
Double edge owners, would you all pls give your comments?

I like mine. Though I did buy an acoustic amp to get a better sound from the piezo. It is kind of cool to have the distortion and clean sounds playing the same parts. Kind of reminisent to some old KISS songs.

More options is always better

I have an RG2027VV and it is now my main Ibanez.
The flexability you get is great and worth the money.
Plus, you can pick up a 2002 model for really good $$$.

I am more than satisfied.

I have an RG620X. I love the piezo, I run it into the PA and mix using a stereo volume pedal.

I have BOSS Acoustic Simulator AC2 and I'm pretty happy with way it sounds. Can anybody tell how this compares with piezo? Do the RG-X models with piezo have two output jacks like S-models?
Two outputs in AC2 are nice cause I can bypass all the unneeded effects on the acoustic sound and thus be able to switch with one press of foot. On the guitar however I'd like to have only one output.

I know the RG620X has two outputs. Cant remember if the 2120 does or not. I am like silent planet, use a volume pedal to mix. I cant ever seem to remember which volumne knob is for the piezo so I always end up choosing the wrong one. I really like my RG620X.

Yes

Yes there are two outputs on the RG2027, I want to try to have them setup for stereo mode with some modifications, but that's when I get bored and have more time.

The RG620 is really nice too, great color on those......

I had an S2020x...I condidered the piezo OK, but not phenomenal. I've also had a Godin which was pretty good, but IMHO the Parker peizo is the best I've heard...stunning acoustic tone. I heard a recording of a bass buddy's band, and asked what acoustic his guitarist was using...Parker! Then I had a Parker classic for a while.

I also had an AC-2 when I had the S2020...it's really not a bad option, a little synthetic sounding, but in the mix it does a dern good job for a small investment.

I believe all the Ibanez piezo models have two output jacks.

I am a proud owner of an RG620XZS. However i felt that the piezo pickup sounded kind of soft in volume as compared to the V7. This is even when the volume knob for my piezo is turned on full. I have to turn up the volume on my amp every time i switch to the piezo bridge. Does anyone have the same problem, or is it just me?

I did when I played through my regular amp but not when I plugged the piezo into the accoustic amp. I guess the output is lower so it won't distort as easily. I barely noticed the difference through my amp though. Maybe a combination of the piezo and type of amp?

shred/ede- there's an internal volume adjustment for the peizo pickup to help balance the two. Check the tech section here, i believe, or if not it ought to be in your owner's manual.

I'm not sure about this but a friend of mine was complaining big time with his peizo. The guitar he bought was 2nd hand actually but he told me that the owner said the peizo's were in good condition. The acoustic sounds not as acoustic as it should be and the sounds are a little sharp. Could it be due to the weather or a damaged bridge? Anyway, i suggest you'd better look properly while choosing one.
