Please help to recognize model of this guitar
Hi all.
Got this guitar from a friend's friend and unfortunately have no info about it. And the serial number is weird...

Re: Please help to recognize model of this guitar
Looks like something he knocked together himself and stuck an Ibanez logo on.

The neck at least is off of a really old Ibanez.

Thanks to everybody.
Pity that there's no common opinion, hope Takin' a Ride is right and at least neck isn't fake.

For what it is worth, my RX-170 does not have a pickguard.

Re: Please help to recognize model of this guitar
Yup... I don't think any RX ever had 24 frets, but the earlier (93) EX370 and EX270 did have maple boards and 24 frets. But both had regular lock nuts, no pickguards, and block heel with plate. Plus AFAIK Iby never used open tuners or had a serial number like that.

He got the same verdict (=fake) over at the Ibanez Collectors forum. No dissenters...
