Re: Post pics of your own Custom modded Ibanez.

Hello!
Here's a picture of my old RG550, that I've customized myself. The paint process was painful and the result is poor, but it's my own Pickups are DiMarzios (2x PAF Pro & FS-1).

The edges around the image are rough, but my Photoshopping skills are minimal. Sorry.

Hi, this is an RG customised with a bit of Jem flavour. I collected all the parts separately and assembled it myself, this being my first assembly. Some specs,

- Body from RG570 in purple Flip-Flop finish, colour changes from purple to blue depending on angle of view.
- Neck is a 24 fret maple, custom made by Jeremy at LGM Guitars (yes, before he got really busy), the maple fretboard is absolutely gorgeous!!!
- Pickups Dimarzio Breed bridge - Jem single coil middle - Breed neck.
- Ibanez Edge bridge.
- misc gold hardware. Yes I know the bridge is black, I didn't have a gold Edge.

Yes, purple and blue leaves, with blue stem. Jeremy did a superb job on this neck, his workmanship is very high.

Re: Post pics of your own Custom modded Ibanez.

Only thing custom is the Blue/Black DiMarzio's. Replaced the V8/S1/V7 for a Steve's Special/Fast Track 1/Air Norton combo. It's pretty much a JPM with a single-coil. I'm going to be changing it completly in the next month or so to something like this:

Dumping the Passives for an active EMG 85/60 set & since I haven't used the single-coil in forever, I'm dumping it for good & filling in the cavity. I'm adding the pearl pickguard for a little flair. Also ditching the tone knob (who uses those, anyway?) for a vol/vol combo, 3-way blade switch.

I also plan to sand the finish off the neck for that nice "pool cue" slide. Anyone know what I could put on it & keep that "unfinished" feel? I heard leaving it bare will let the neck warp. Someone had suggested tung oil, but I'm looking for more than one suggestion.

Thanx for your time!

Are you serious? haha

No, playing the kind of metal I do, I'd get laughed off any stage with that thing. Besides, it no longer appeals to me & I can't afford a new guitar, atm, & it plays beautifully!

It's got so much sentimental value to me, I could never get rid of it. I am keeping the inside of the spring cavity in the back the blue sparkle, just as a "Remember your true self" kinda vibe.

That thing's AWESOME!

Painting it black is the worst idea Ive ever heard.

And EMGs is the second.
