Re: Prestige neck to rg370dx

Another question : I have a original floyd rose bridge and two evo pickups (bridge and neck). Finally I want to get a professional guitar. I mean, original floyd rose, prestige neck, evo pickups .... But Im not sure my guitar body quality. Is there too big body quality difference between rg370dx body and rg 1570.

I mean if I make all modifications above to my rg370dx, can I get pro guitar.? Or do you say that dont make those modifications to rg370dx, buy a rg 1570.

Finally I have already original floyd rose bridge and evo pickups. But Im not sure rg370dx body quality.

Please help...

Re: Prestige neck to rg370dx

You keep tossing around this word about a "professional guitar" but I don't think that such a thing truly exists. What makes a guitar sound "professional" isn't so much the guitar but the person playing it. In the end, it's all about whether or not the guitar is comfortable to YOU. That being said, there is a difference in the wood quality between an RG370 and say an RG1570 but if you already have all of those other parts on hand then you can make yourself a pretty freakin' awesome guitar.

Re: Prestige neck to rg370dx

Thanks for your answer. Ok you are right, "professional guitar" is so relative word. Lets skip it. But body quality difference as you mentioned, is big gap for me. How much, many difference, too big or little?. I am so wondering this.

I plan a demo album. I have many projects. But I cant decide on rg370dx body. My senses say that rg370dx is enough quality to get guitar which I want (many busy job, - concert, album, stage..) . But Im not authority about guitar body. And I need your advices.

Thanks.

Re: Prestige neck to rg370dx

It's all about personal preference. Personally after playing other Ibanez guitars made of mahogany, I don't think that I'll ever want to own a basswood RG again. It has nothing to do with the quality of the wood (I own an RG370DX and it's my main axe) but as I've played more and more I've really come to love the sound of mahogany. Not to say that there's anything wrong with basswood but mahogany is just where it's at for me.

Re: Prestige neck to rg370dx

I think there are levels of quality control at Hoshino, that prevents a 370 body from being a 6 piece body (i.e. low quality). With that, good pickups, electronics and hardware, and that prestige neck, you're well on your way to a good thing. At the same time, getting a full RG370, replacing the hardware and electronics, and getting a good tech to fiddle with the neck, you're also at a good guitar place. Most people here I think are more careful about the trem and the pups on a guitar lower than an RG5xx.
