putting regular nut on ORIG Wizard neck

Is it fairly easy to put a regular nut on a Floyd equipped Wizard neck?

Im gonna order an original Wizard neck for my RG421. Already found a fellow who sells em, would there be any issues finding a proper nut to put in place of the Floyd nut, or would i have to take it to a tech to get it custom fitted in?

leave the locking nut and take the pads off.......

OR leave the pads on, and your tuning will be a little more stable.

actually, I spose that wouldnt be too bad

would I gain or lose anything in terms of sustain or tone?

Or would I have to change my action to accomodate the new nut?

a fixed bridge with locking nut, could be DAMN stable if the strings were stretched out

Im just curious if I would have any intonation issues or problems

I think you would gain a bit of sustain having a metal nut vs a plastic one. I think you should just leave it on there! you might have to adjust the action a tid but, but thats less work than installing a new nut

There was a thread here a while ago where the same thing was discussed... The allparts.com solution seems like an easy and clean mod...I'd go with that if you plan to change your tunings often...If not, than why not leave the locking nut...

thanks fellas, I was thinking the exact same thing.

It could be interesting to see HOW stable it would be if the strings were stetched well and then locked. She might NEVER go outta tune
