Re: question about older rg470s ?

I think they had Wizard II neck like the RG470 and the older models have some sort Lo-TRS, not an edge or similar. If I was going for an S470 I would go for more modern one with the Z bridge on, unless you have an OFR sitting around to swap the TRS out for.

Some RG470's DID end up with an Edge on somehow (probably the factory trying to get rid of stock) Plus people convert them, so don't be suprised to see an RG470 with an Edge on it

Re: question about older rg470s ?

The early ones (93/94 I think) were made in Japan with an Edge and Wizard neck.

I have a 95 model which actually came with a Wizard neck, but unfortunately the LO-TRS II trem. It has since been replaced as it has worn out completely, but for the time being has an equally cheap trem as it's now my backup guitar. When I have some spare cash for it I will get a Gotoh most probably for it.

Re: question about older rg470s ?

the reason i ask is that i need a wizard neck and the rg470s were going cheaper then compartivly just a neck alone so that is why i was wanting to know .

Re: question about older rg470s ?

I have a 470 with old style neck joint (not AANJ) and it is a wizard neck (not wizard II).

I think it is a 91 or 92, but am not really sure. I does not have an Edge bridge, it's got the Lo TRS II, iirc.

First year (1993) RG470's did come with Wizard necks and Edge trems. The RG470's after that had Wizard II necks and Lo-TRS trems.

Re: question about older rg470s ?

My friend has a guitar, which he suppose is RG470. I'm not sure, but it has lo-pro edge. Made in 1993. Here're the pictures:

Anyone know how Ibanez call that finish colour?
