Question on RBM1

Hi all -

I have an opportunity to pick up a blue RBM1 (first year, no pickguard) for $400. Is this a decent price? Also what are the necks like? I had a RG550 and RG570 but ended getting rid of them as the necks were too thin.

if it has an original edge trem and is in decent not good but decent shape, it sounds like a good deal.....

couldnt tell you what the necks are like. i would imagine thin and flat radius....

if you dont get it let me know and i might get it....

It's in good shape and comes with a case. Also has the bridge pickup upgraded to an EMG....

Wizard neck you won't like it but for $400 I will take it. Could always use a spare...

the rbm's had the rbm shape, which is identical to the ultra...i can confirm this because i had an rbm1, then later sold it for my rgt3120. almost the same neck. my rg2120x and 540r have a similar feel as well.

First year Japan made RBM might have had a wizard profile, because mine feels just like my 540p power and my RG 20th reissue... either neck is nice!

it may, mine was a second year blue with gold and lo-pro.

God, I can't get to like that guitar...

Doesn't that cutaway behind the bridge influence (negatively) the tone?

Well the guitars made for Reb, and a few versions sold to the public, were mahogany so they had pretty good tone even with the cut away. I don't believe all of the guitars sold to the masses were made of that wood, which resulted in neck heavy guitars and less tone than Reb's.

I'd imagine the neck should be slightly thicker than the ones on the rg550?
