Questions about setting up low action

I now own a RG770 and I need to set it up near perfectly.
So i have a few questions

What do they mean by the following:

1. 1.6 mm (1/16 inch) minimum open string clearance at fret-24
(Tremolo Bridge Height Adjustment)

2. "The thought is to not have pivot point contact as it can cause wear on the posts or knive edge contact"
What is the 'Posts or Knive Edge Contact'?

1. Means 1.6mm clearance between top of fret 24 and underside of string, but you can set that any way you like, check the link above

2. They mean that turning the trem studs with full string pressure on them might be harmful to the studs and knife edges, but IMO that's not the case.
