quick 'is this normal'

Hey guys. i bought a new rg2550z yesterday and so far i'm loving it. couple of complaints though, first one is one of the hinges on the case was missing a through rod, and second is when ever i depress the trem the b and e strings don't seem to lose much tension. pic is attached. it really doesn't seem normal, but is it?

Re: quick 'is this normal'

i'd take the case back to the shop or complain to ibanez or something.

as for the trem thing, is the trem set up properly? is the trem block in the back touching the ZPS bar? is the ZPS bar fully into it's "grooves"? is the trem parallel to the guitar body (more specifically, the knife edges parallel to the studs)? how high is the action?

on my guitar (rg2550z) when the bar is fully depressed, the high E still remains relatively taught. still, the pitch goes down as far as the other strings when they touch the pickups.

could be any of those things. i have the same guitar and the guy in the shop i got it from didn't really set it up well, and it is my first floating bridge equipped guitar, so i had to spend about a month painfully researching every detail about it lol, but i have it set up perfectly now.
